Introducing the SFR 4 into 1 header for the 944 turbo. There is nothing else that even comes close. This masterpiece utilizes equal length runners and a 4 into 1 slip-fit, merge collector for making serious top-end power. The tri-Y headers that come standard on the 944 series cars are designed for one thing and one thing only, torque. However, most 951's make tremendous amounts of tire smoking torque but lack the top-end power that is so vital on the track. This is not a problem anymore.
This header moves your power curve upwards in the rpm range and when used in conjunction with our SFR intake manifold, cylinder head and cam, gives you the ability to make maximum power where most other 951's run out of breath, at redline!These headers have been dyno tested to deliver 30-56 horsepower at the rear wheels.There is also an increase in torque in the upper rpms but you dont give up any torque in the lower rpms! Now you can have the best of both worlds.
The SFR header also incorporates some unique features that make it second to none. For example the header/crossover combo utilizes v-band clamp assemblies for an easy, leak-free, gasket-less seal. It also comes in three pieces so that getting to the bellhousing or removing the oil pan gasket becomes a simple task. You also have access to your lower balance shaft and your motor mounts. The SFR crossover can also be used with all KKK or Garrett/KKK hybrid turbos. For those that want to make serious power, we have crossover pipes that allow you to use a true Garret Turbo. Now you can bolt-on one of our new SFR GT series dual ball-bearing turbos with a real T-4 housing! Now you have your choice of a .58, .63, .70, .82, .96 A/R turbine housing.
Every SFR header is TIG welded with 308, or 347 filler rod, on specially designed jigs. These jigs allow for a precise fit with no clearance issues. Every SFR header uses a special slip-fit merge collector that allows each runner to expand and contract without cracking. These slip-fit merge collectors are also designed to use the proper angles to promote maximum velocity which means you get increased spool-up. Every SFR header is hand-finished on the inside for optimal flow and maximum performance.
